My name is Alison Mulder
I am an occupational therapist with almost 20 years of service, providing pediatric therapy to children in the Waterloo Region, and Life Care Planning services across GTA/South Ontario.
As a treating occupational therapist I provide a specialised pediatric occupational therapy program for high-needs children in the waterloo region. I am also a Canadian Certified Life Care Planner and complete comprehensive, detailed Future Cost of Care Reports Life Care Plans.
I started working as an occupational therapist in 2003 after graduating from the Université d’Ottawa Programme D’Ergotherapie (Occupational Therapy). I am also the proud mother of three neurodivergent boys, one of whom is on the Autism Spectrum. I will proudly say that there was a period when I stepped back from my professional role as an occupational therapist and took several years to be a full-time parent when the needs of my son were at their highest. Straddling these dual roles of being both a special needs parent and a professional occupational therapist has deepened my understanding of the depths of needs that families have in parenting special-needs children. It has also broadened my understanding of the limited services available to children in our region. (I have likely accessed, or tried to access, most of the services available!)
